SBS Inclusion Program

Project Goals

  1. Design a marketing website to introduce the new Inclusion program and act as a gateway to the payment portal.

  2. Create a payment portal that can support multiple license purchasing.

Reseach Methods

  • Personas

  • User interviews

  • Journey Maps

  • Prototype Testing

Reseach

SBS was targeting:

  • Large private corporations (1000+ employees)

  • Government agencies

  • Non-for-profits

  • Education providers (schools and universities)

  • Individuals

I conducted interviews with people from a broad background, including HR managers, teachers, and individuals interested in self-development. I discovered that HR managers most often looked for employee training as a result of new company initiatives proposed by high-level management, while teachers and individuals were more self-motivated and genuinely curious.

Research also showed that companies preferred to first have trials of products before investing due to reporting and KPI issues. I also discovered that while companies moved forward with training initiatives and purchased licenses, it often took longer for them to find the appropriate time to release them to employees.

Creating personas was key for this project as the program is targeting multiple users at once, and each had very different journeys.

Because of the diverse range of licenses needed, the payment portal needed to be able to process anywhere from a single licence to thousands. However, after presenting the user-research findings, SBS decided to continue large corporate sales via their existing sales team, as companies were reluctant to spend thousands without first talking to a representative. A contact form was added into the Purchase page design to capture lead data.

Because companies often needed time between purchase and start of training, license allocation had to allow for students to not be notified immediately, this was taken into consideration in a feature that allows companies to simply turn off notifications and send a sign-in link to students when they are ready.

Results

  1. A responsive marketing website that highlights the key benefits of each course in the program.

  2. An easy checkout system that allows customers to purchase up to 100 licenses.

Inclusion V2

Once the marketing and payment portal was designed, SBS requested further design and development of:

  1. A license management portal were companies can assign licenses, track student progress, and purchase more licenses.

  2. An additional view for students in the management portal, where they can access the courses their company has purchased and download their certificates.

  3. An Easy-to-use and accessible e-Learning app that is mobile friendly and has multimedia support.
